WHO WE ARE

Doctors for Right to Health (DRH) is an independent, non-governmental, non-partisan and not-for-profit organization that mobilizes medical doctors and lawyers to work together to improve the health and human rights of the poorest, most marginalized and vulnerable members of society. DRH combines medical and legal expertise to:

• fight unacceptable health inequalities
• strengthen health systems and
• promote human rights in the health sector.

Founded in 2006 by Dr. John Kweku Kwawurah, DRH works to ensure that the most disadvantaged members of society fully enjoy their right to the highest attainable standard of health. Our innovative approach presents a compelling opportunity to leverage existing and previously untapped health and legal resources in Ghana to protect and promote the right to health for all Ghanaians, particularly the most disadvantaged. DRH believes that every person, regardless of age, gender, socio-economic or ethnic background, has a right to good health.

DRH is registered under the Companies Code 1963 (Act 179) of the Republic of Ghana; and duly recognized by the Department of Social Welfare as a Non-Governmental Health and Human Rights Organization . We are based in Accra, Ghana.
